Michele-CalicaMichelle Calica is an undergraduate student at the University of Nevada, Reno where she is currently studying voice with Dr. Albert Lee. She was recently featured in Nevada Chamber Opera’s A Grand Tour of Opera where she played Hansel in Humperdinck’s Hansel and Gretel and Carmen in Bizet’s Carmen. She is a member of Nevada Chamber Opera, Nevada Repertory Company, Opera Bel Canto and is active with Nevada Opera, with whom she performed in Sondheim’s Sweeney Todd, Jukebox Unhinged, and various Artown performances. Featured roles include “Leila” in Gilbert and Sullivan’s Iolanthe, “Susan” in Christian McCleer’s Delete, and “Maria” in Bernstein and Sondheim’s West Side Story. Additionally, she plays in the UNR Symphony Orchestra, UNR Symphonic Band, and marches with the Wolf Pack Marching Band.. Ms. Calica hopes to pursue advanced degrees in Business Management and Performing Arts Administration.
